On Wednesday 6th March the Bishop of the Diocese of Mindelo, the esteemed and popular Monsignor Ildo Augusto Dos Santos Lopes Fortes, arrived in Prague. A full programme awaits him in the Czech Republic. On the very first day, the Archbishop of Prague, J. Exc. Mons. Jan Graubner. The meeting was held in a spirit of friendly conversation about the activities of the Diocese of Mindelo and plans for the future. Among these plans is the construction of a new school in Cape Verde, in collaboration with the Hope Cape Verde Foundation, whose President, Mónica Sofe Duarte, invited the Bishop to Prague and is now accompanying him through all the events of the programme. The programme also includes the signing of a protocol between the Diocese of Mindelo and the Czech-Cape Verde Chamber of Commerce, which sets out the parameters for future cooperation.
On Friday, they will visit the studios of the Christian TV station NOE in Ostrava, and on Saturday they will take part in the international spiritual exercise MOTUS CHRISTI, which will bring together believers fromEcuador, Brazil, Cape Verde, Spain and the Czech Republic. A joint mass is planned for Sunday in the Church of St Thomas in Prague.
