Great news for travellers! EasyJet has announced that it will be adding direct flights from Portugal to the island of Sal in Cape Verde to its 2024/2025 winter timetable. The first flights will depart from Lisbon on 29 October and from Porto on 30 October.
Tickets start at 83.99 euros and go on sale on 9 May. EasyJet will operate four flights a week from Lisbon (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) and two flights a week from Porto (Wednesdays and Saturdays) throughout the year.
This is a historic step for EasyJet as it is the first destination in West Africa to be served by the airline. It also makes Sal the southernmost destination in the EasyJet network.
The company hopes the new route will strengthen the links between Portugal and Cape Verde, both in terms of tourism and trade. The new route is expected to increase the number of tourists visiting Cape Verde and boost the economies of both countries.
The Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, is delighted: “The launch of EasyJet flights on the Portugal-Cape Verde route is a dream come true and we expect it to have a positive impact on strengthening Cape Verde’s position in the tourism market and diversifying the offer for Cape Verdeans in the country and in the diaspora.”

It will enable the creation of new transport solutions for our expatriates, making it easier for them to connect with their home country and leading to an increase in their investment in the country”.
