Sal Island, Republic of Cabo Verde, 18 June 2025
Today marks the opening of the prestigious Cape Verde Investment Forum 2025 on Sal Island, organised by the Government of Cabo Verde in cooperation with the national agency Cabo Verde TradeInvest, the European Union, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and other international partners.
The forum brings together representatives of public institutions, foreign and domestic investors, entrepreneurs, and experts in energy, infrastructure, tourism, and digital transformation. Its aim is to present concrete development projects, establish new business ties, and strengthen public–private cooperation.
PROGRAMME – CABO VERDE INVESTMENT FORUM
Cape Verde as an Investment Destination
Cabo Verde has long positioned itself as a safe, stable and open economy, ideal for responsible investments with a medium- to long-term horizon. Its advantages include not only political stability and a strategic Atlantic location, but also proactive support for renewables, European financial instruments, and active state agencies focused on investors.
Key priority areas include:
-
Sustainable tourism with higher local added value
-
Decentralised energy and logistics platforms
-
Digitalisation, island connectivity and smart governance
-
Technical education, healthcare and municipal infrastructure
-
Agriculture, aquaculture and supply self-sufficiency
The LIMÚ Project: A New Urban Model for Boa Vista Island
One of the key moments of today’s programme will be the presentation of the LIMÚ – Integrated Urban Living concept by Mónica Sofia Duarte, founder of DuarGema Group and President of the Czech-Cape Verdean Chamber of Commerce.
LIMÚ is a visionary concept of a new urban district combining housing, services, community spaces, environmental and educational features, and port infrastructure. Its distinguishing features include:
-
Connecting tourism with the local economy (production, jobs, education)
-
Circular economy and short supply chains
-
Environmental sustainability and biodiversity
-
Social inclusion and replicability across islands
The project is fully aligned with the UN Agenda 2030, Cabo Verde’s national strategy for sustainable development, and the priorities of the EU and AfDB.
Exclusive Preview: LIMÚ Visualisation
As the forum is held in Cabo Verde and not all Czech or European partners can attend, the Czech-Cape Verdean Chamber of Commerce now brings you exclusive public access to the internal structure of the LIMÚ project. The visualisations published today are being shown for the first time at the forum.
For those interested in strategic partnerships, expert collaboration or investment participation, LIMÚ offers both inspiration and a tangible signal of the evolving Cape Verdean landscape in urban development, tourism and infrastructure.
